We Check Your Vehicle BEFORE We Tune It

At North Lakes Cars, we don’t simply plug into your vehicle, install a tune and send you on your way.

Every vehicle must first undergo our FREE Pre-Tune Vehicle Health Check at our North Lakes workshop.

There is no charge for this inspection, and it is carried out by appointment.

Before tuning, we need to make sure your vehicle is in excellent mechanical and electrical condition and suitable for the additional performance being requested.

Our pre-tune assessment includes checking the vehicle for existing mechanical problems and electronically scanning the vehicle for stored fault codes, ECU or transmission faults, warning lights, sensor issues or other conditions that could affect the reliability or performance of the vehicle once tuned.

Modern engines and transmissions rely heavily on electronic sensors and interconnected control systems. A vehicle can appear to drive normally while still having stored fault codes or sensor readings that indicate an underlying problem.

If we’re not satisfied with the mechanical or electrical condition of the vehicle, we won’t tune it until the problem has been investigated and rectified.

Because North Lakes Cars is a fully equipped mechanical service, repair and diagnostic workshop in North Lakes, we can investigate and repair many of these issues in-house.

Our approach is simple:
